Hi I'm Kari. I am a fully qualified and insured CBT therapist based in west central Scotland and able to cover the whole of the UK remotely.
I apply an integrated approach with an emphasis on self-compassion to help you get the most out of your sessions with me. I always ensure you feel safe and respected every step of the way.
I have both personal and professional experience with neurodivergences including autism, adhd and dyslexia. I am happy to take individual client support needs into account to make sure therapy is accessible for all.
Sometimes we need a little support in navigating day-to-day life, work or family situations. I work with a range of presenting factors including worries around driving and transport, anxiety and loss. I am trauma informed and often support clients experiencing complex PTSD from previous traumas, as well as offering couples counselling for various relationship issues. You will be assured of a safe space free of judgement where you will be fully heard and have your experience validated.
Sessions are available in various different formats depending on what best suits your requirements:
These sessions are the classic face-to-face model you may have in mind when you are thinking of how therapy might look. My main practice is based in the heart of Glasgow City Centre in a beautiful listed building. The therapy room is a few minutes walk from Glasgow Central Station. You will find the space is always cosy, calming and you can be assured of utmost privacy.
You will be welcomed at the door on arrival and water is provided for all clients.
These sessions last 50 minutes each.
These sessions are a popular choice for clients who live further afield as well as for those who may be nervous of meeting face-to-face initially. Online video sessions allow you to access the same high standard of care and empathy as my in-person sessions provide, but with the added benefit of being in the comfort of your own home. Perfect on the chillier winter days!
These sessions last 50 minutes each.
These sessions are designed for clients who thrive on being outside and feel more at ease being surrounded by nature. These sessions can also be less intimidating for clients who struggle with face-to-face eye contact as we walk side by side and you are free to look around you at the beautiful trees, sky, animals and pathways as we walk along.
These sessions last 50 minutes each.
*Please note wellbeing walk sessions are on a strictly 1-to-1 basis.*
These sessions are for clients who wish to work together with their partner on their relationship. Perhaps there is a breakdown in trust or communication, maybe you are struggling to connect following a big life event, and things just don't feel as they once did. In these sessions both partners are truly heard and valued, and together we will explore how to find comfort and resolution for you both.
These sessions last 90 minutes each to allow time for both partners to be heard.
I look forward to hearing from you.
